2025 Thank You

We believe every mother and newborn deserves the chance to survive and thrive — no matter where they live.

Perinatal Rescue Network exists to equip birth workers with the skills and tools they need to save lives in low-resource settings.

Let me share just a few of the ways your support made an impact this year:

In Chad, two members of our PRN team, Kelsey and Sarah, trained midwives and nurses. . They taught Essential Newborn Care 1 & 2, including how to stabilize premature babies who would typically not survive in such limited conditions.

In India, Kim served for six months, teaching midwives who are deeply committed to improving outcomes in their communities. She provided hands-on education, mentoring, and leadership and was very well received.

In the Middle East, one of our team members continues long-term community health work while learning the culture and language. She led small-group education for local mothers, helping them understand basic nutrition.

In Sierra Leone, Joyce spent two weeks teaching Essential Newborn Care 1 & 2. Many of the midwives she trained have been practicing for years, yet had never been taught how to use an ambu-bag to help a baby breathe!

In the United States, our board members trained dozens of birth workers from Oregon to the East Coast through professional workshops, simulations, and interdisciplinary team-building. We also taught active missionaries not involved in medical field, but because of their remote settings, asked for training in the basics of Essential Newborn Care.

Supplies

We equip those serving in low-resource communities with the materials needed to teach. This happens all year long. We stock our storage room with supplies so access is quick.

Looking Ahead

We already have two major training opportunities scheduled for 2026:

• A two-week intensive course preparing volunteers for work in low-resource settings

• A Essential newborn care 1 (Helping Babies Breathe) workshop at a national conference in Minnesota

We are excited and deeply aware that these opportunities only become reality when we have the resources to respond.
