In June of this year, we were able to partner with The Whole Woman Initiative and put on a Helping Mother’s Survive and Helping Babies Breathe course in Iraq. One of the initiative focuses is on training birth attendants that work about 3 hours away in a war-torn area of the country where supplies and training are limited and currently no back up doctors are present.
Through Perinatal Rescue Network we were able to bring Helping Mother’s Survive and Helping Babies Breathe curriculum and supplies to train the locals in these skills. They are overjoyed and so happy to have this resource and training material as they already have plans to put on more trainings this year for more birth attendants working in the war torn area of the country.
