Work in Nigeria

Updated: Oct 4, 2018

Our Director, Samson Popoola in Nigeria has recently led trainings in both Helping Babies Breathe and Helping Mothers Survive Bleeding after Birth. The nursing students specifically requested these practical classes before graduation. There were 29 participants in the classes including 1 doctor. The classes were led by veteran Master Trainer Omolade Ajaeoba and teachers from the SDA School of Nursing Ile Ife. Samson also continues to conduct a monthly review meeting that emphasizes early detection of problems during birth and pregnancy with traditional birth attendants. He reports that there has been "tremendous compliance." We are so proud of the work that our partners are doing!
